Nexus Auto Rentals – Terms of Service

Welcome to Nexus Auto Rentals! These terms outline the rules for using our platform and renting our vehicles. Please read them carefully, they’re here to keep things fair and transparent for everyone.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using our website, app, or services, you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please don’t rent with us.
2. Rental Requirements
- Age: You must be 21+ to rent.
- License: A valid driver’s license is required.
3. Booking & Payments
- Reservations: Book online or via our app (App is Pending).
- Payments: Securely processed at booking. Prices include taxes/fees unless noted.
- Card Name: The payment card must match the driver’s name on the rental agreement.
Security Deposit ($200)
- Held during your rental and refunded 1–3 days after return (pending bank processing).
Extra Fees (Avoid These!)
- Young Driver Fee: For renters under 25.
- Cleaning Fee: $50 up to $150 if returned excessively dirty.
- Smoking Fee: $150 (strictly no cigarettes, vaping, or drugs in the car).
- Late Return: No grace period on rental returns. If the vehicle is not returned by the agreed-upon drop-off time and location as specified in the contract, the following charges will apply:
- - A fee of $1.00 per minute late.
- - An additional default fee of $150.00 can be applied for excessive tardiness, at the sole discretion of Nexus Auto Rentals.
- Key Fob Loss: Up to $499 replacement fee.
- Lockout Fee: $100 if you’re locked out (we’ll help, but it’s not free).
- Toll Violations: $5 per toll if you don’t prepay for a Texas Toll Freedom Pass.

4. Insurance
- Option 1: Use your own full-coverage insurance (must cover the car’s value).
- Option 2: Pay our $10/day fee (waived if you provide proof of insurance).
- Max Out-of-Pocket: $1,000 in case of damage.
5. Extensions
- Request extensions 4+ hours before your rental ends. Late requests may be denied if the car’s booked.
- Late extensions? $35 reinstatement fee.
6. Rules & Liability
- No reckless driving (speeds over 90 mph void protection plans).
- No pets (service animals require approval).
- No out-of-state trips without permission ($300 fee + possible ban).
7. Lost & Found
- Forgot something? We’ll ship it for $35 + shipping costs (paid in advance via Zelle/Cash App).
- Unclaimed items are discarded after 10 days.
8. Changes & Termination
- We may update these terms anytime (check back occasionally).
- We can end your rental early for violations (e.g., fraud & unlawful activities, unpaid fees).
9. Governing Law
These terms of service are governed by the laws of Harris County, Texas without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
